An overview of some of HNZ's clients and the range of our operations.
Shell Todd Oil Services are the long-servicing upstream oil and gas operators in the Taranaki region, NZ. They are gas producers from the offshore Maui oil field in the South Taranaki Basin from the Maui A and B platforms. HNZ has been servicing this field continuously since 1968.
Australia Worldwide Exploration are the operators of the offshore Tui oilfield in the South Taranaki Basin, NZ. Helicopters New Zealand services their FPSO Umuroa as well as ongoing exploration and development.
Woodside Burrup are developing the Pluto LNG project. HNZ services this development in North Western Australia with its AW139 helicopters from its base in Karratha.
OMV have recently completed the development of the Maari Platform and field offshore Taranaki, NZ. Helicopters New Zealand also services this field from its New Plymouth base.
NAFC/FESA – HNZ Australia has ongoing contracts with the Western Australian Fire and Emergency Safety Authority through the National Australia Fire Commission. These organisations have wide-ranging responsibilities for emergency services in Australia.
US Department of Defence through the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command (JPAC) are responsible for the recovery and identification of US servicemen missing in conflicts worldwide. HNZ has been supporting these operations throughout Asia for many years.
Rio Tinto is a major producer and exporter of minerals from Karratha in North Western Australia. Helicopters New Zealand provides marine pilot transfers to Rio’s ore carrying ships.
The Italian Government National Antarctic science programme is run from the Mario Zucchelli Base in Terra Nova Bay. They are also partners in the multi-national ice core research programme at Dome Concordia on the Polar Plateau. The programme is managed by ENEA and HNZ has been contracted to them since 1985.
Antarctica New Zealand continues New Zealand’s proud heritage of involvement on the Antarctic continent. Science and research programmes are run through ANZ’s Scott Base in McMurdo Sound. Helicopters New Zealand has been providing the helicopter support to ANZ since 1995.
Australian Customs, in addition to the General National Border Security requirements provide advanced surveillance using specialist aircraft. HNZ Australia has been operating its EC145 for this service in the Northern Territories border area.
The Australian Defence Force has new-generation and sophisticated attack helicopters entering service for the Australian Army. Utilising its EC135 helicopters and experience in modern generation glass cockpit aircraft, HNZ Australia is contracted to provide flight training to army pilots to transition them to the changing demands of their new aircraft.
Origin Energy has recently completed the development of the Kupe Gas Field in south Taranaki. They have installed an unmanned platform providing gas to their coastal production station. HNZ has provided helicopter services to Origin Energy through the exploration to production phase. We continue to provide support to the production and ongoing exploration by Origin.
ESSO is the major oil and gas producer in the Bass Strait in Australia. They operate their own fleet of modern well-equipped helicopters to service their production and development activities. HNZ Australia provides both pilots and engineers to ESSO.
