The HNZ fleet

With a modern fleet of over 45 helicopters, HNZ is equipped to deliver excellence across a diverse range of operations.


 
 


 HNZ has taken delivery of its first AW109SP with 2 more to follow. The SP is the latest generation AW109 platform. This aircraft offers completely new digital glass-cockpit and a composite material fuselage. This aircraft offers high performance capabilities, a large cabin and low environment footprint for a wide range of roles whilst retaining the attractive economics typical of the light twin category.

The EC145 is the undisputed platform of choice in the air medical services sector, whilst also demonstrating serious off-shore capabilities.The EC145 has a fast cruise speed of 133 knots and a large cabin with space for nine passengers.

The AW139 is an ideal medium twin-turbine helicopter for the offshore transportation role, with its large cabin and baggage compartments allowing it to transport 12 or 15 passengers. The superior power of the installed engines, two P&W PT6C-67C ensures the AW139 has the best performance of its class in all conditions.
HNZ currently flies three AW139, with two on order and an option on a further two.

The Airbus Helicopters EC130 is a single-engined light helicopter featuring an enclosed tail fan that reduces outside noise by 50% compared to a standard tail rotor. The EC130 features a spacious cockpit with excellent external visibility, capable of accommodating seven passengers.

HNZ has one EC130 in the fleet.

From searing desert to polar ice caps, the Bell 412 is the world’s most rugged and reliable medium twin-engine helicopter, capable of operating in conditions that would cripple most other aircraft.
HNZ currently have 2 of these reliable machines in action.

The high-performance AS350 B3 helicopter is designed to carry out demanding missions in the most extreme weather and geographical conditions. Its exceptional lifting power, high endurance, extended range and fast cruise speed make it an ideal aircraft for HNZ operations.

HNZ utilises a number of these versatile aircraft in its Australian fire-fighting operations.

The single-engine AS350 B2 "squirrel" has an outstanding industry track record. Its flexibility has made it a very sought-after helicopter capable of performing a diverse range of operations, including passenger transport, fire fighting, and law enforcement.

HNZ has operated squirrels in support of Antarctic operations for numerous governmental agencies since the mid-eighties.

The technologically-advanced EC135 helicopter combines a wide, unobstructed cabin with low-noise operation and multi-mission capability. Oversized sliding side doors and rear clamshell doors enable fast loading/unloading of passengers and equipment. EC135s are widely used by air medical services, in support of the offshore oil/ gas industry and for law enforcement. HNZ has two EC135s in the fleet.

  • Capacity: 1 pilot + 6/7 passengers, or 2 pilots + 5/6 passengers.
