Technical Director (New Zealand)
An opportunity now exists at our Head Office in Nelson, New Zealand to become part of the senior leadership team as Technical Director.
Reporting to the Executive Vice President (International), your primary objective will be to lead the HNZ Technical department in all aspects of line and base maintenance, repair, overhaul and logistic activities relating to HNZ’s fleet of aircraft, and to enable the company to execute its growth strategy into new markets
Key Responsibilities;
• Ensure that maintenance is performed in accordance with HNZ’s policies, procedures, safety management systems, and in accordance with applicable aviation rules and regulations.
• Maintain and develop maintenance planning and execution policies and procedures that meet requirements for airworthiness and deliver competitive levels of aircraft availability and maintenance cost.
• Maintain and develop excellent working relationships with the industry including Helicopter OEMS and national regulators.
• Advise the HNZ Organisation on the selection of helicopter fleet type and specialised role equipment.
• Contribute to HNZ’s overall strategic development and growth.
The successful applicant will ideally have;
• A Civil Maintenance Engineering licence (either currently or in the past)
• A minimum of five years experience in a Technical / Engineering senior management role in a helicopter company that operates a large fleet of medium and heavy twin-engine helicopters (including new generation types).
• Familiarisation with Safety Management Systems and a track record of aircraft safety and airworthiness.
• Experience in International helicopter operations and demonstrated capability of producing competitive levels of aircraft availability and maintenance cost.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to successfully communicate and collaborate within a team environment.
